Marvel Studios has officially changed the name of the Thunderbolts movie, which was released last week. The new name of the movie was announced as The New Avengers. The asterisk (*) in the title of the production had raised the possibility of a name change among viewers. This expectation was confirmed with the statement from Marvel.
Marvel is changing the name of the Thunderbolts movie
The movie, which was released under the name Thunderbolts, started to be called The New Avengers after a week of release. Marvel first announced this name change on its official social media accounts, then updated its promotional materials with the new name.

The “Avengers” detail in the new name is interpreted as a strategic move to expand the audience of the movie. Unlike the classic Avengers members, the movie features characters who stand out as anti-heroes in the comics.
The cast includes names such as Winter Soldier (Bucky Barnes), Yelena Belova (Black Widow’s sister), Red Guardian (their Russian stepfather), Taskmaster, John Walker (the new Captain America) and Ghost.
Although The New Avengers received generally positive reviews in its first screenings, its box office performance initially fell short of expectations. With the name change move, Marvel aims to reach a wider audience by taking advantage of the strong influence of the “Avengers” brand.
This change may also have a direct impact on Marvel projects that will be released in the future. So what do you think about this? You can easily share your views with us in the comments section below.
