Because McDonald’s and the advertising agency TBWA\Neboko are aiming to draw you to their restaurants with a specially designed billboard placed on the streets of the Netherlands. McDonald’s style French fries scented billboard
This new advertising strategy uses a billboard that carries the scent of McDonald’s iconic French fries. These billboards attract attention not only with their colors but also with the scents they emit. They aim to catch the attention of everyone passing by and increase the desire for McDonald’s products.
Produced by Raul & Rigel and designed by TBWA\Neboko, these billboards symbolize McDonald’s with their colors and remind of the brand’s prominent flavors with their scents. Inside the billboard, there is a special compartment that emits the scent of McDonald’s fries.
Microsoft started testing the display of ads in the Start menu with the new update it recently released for Windows 11.
Of course, the compartment doesn’t store actual fries, but thanks to its heating and ventilation system, the scent of McDonald’s fries is dispersed into the surroundings. These scented billboards are strategically placed near McDonald’s restaurants.
Thus, people who smell the scent are directed straight to the restaurant. With this creative advertising campaign, McDonald’s aims to increase brand awareness while maximizing customer interest in their restaurants. You can watch the video of the billboard here.
