As competition in the mobile processor world heats up every day, MediaTek has introduced its latest chipsets. These two models, named Dimensity 7400 and Dimensity 7400X, replace last year’s Dimensity 7300 series. These processors, which stand out with their stronger AI performance, advanced game optimizations, and energy efficiency, will power the new generation of smartphones. So what exactly do these new chipsets offer? Here are the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 and 7400X features…
MediaTek Dimensity 7400 and Dimensity 7400X Features
MediaTek’s latest chipsets are powered by TSMC’s 4nm manufacturing process to deliver improved performance and energy efficiency. These processors, which have an eight-core CPU structure, feature four 2.6GHz Cortex-A78 cores and four 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 cores. On the graphics side, the Mali-G615 MC2 GPU makes the mobile gaming experience smoother.

The processors, which support LPDDR5 and LPDDR4X technologies as memory support, can reach speeds of up to 6400Mbps. On the storage side, it comes compatible with UFS 3.1 and UFS 2.2. When we look at the connection features, these chipsets, which offer 5G support, can reach 3.27Gbps download speed thanks to 3CC carrier aggregation technology. It also promises high performance in wireless connections with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4 support.
In terms of imaging, MediaTek provides camera support up to 200 Megapixels with Imagiq 950 ISP technology. Features such as 4K HDR video recording (30fps), artificial intelligence-supported autofocus, electronic image stabilization (EIS) and face recognition increase photo and video performance. On the display side, the MiraVision 955 engine provides support for 120Hz WFHD+ and 144Hz Full HD+ displays, providing a smoother visual experience.
On the artificial intelligence side, the APU 655 unit offers 15 percent more performance compared to the previous generation. On the gaming side, UltraSave 3.0+ technology reduces power consumption by 36 percent and extends battery life. Google Ultra HDR support provides a wider dynamic range, taking the photo and video experience to the next level.
Although these two processors are largely similar in terms of technical features, they differ in terms of the targeted device types. While the Dimensity 7400 is optimized for traditional smartphones, the Dimensity 7400X was developed specifically for foldable devices. Since power management and multi-screen usage are more important in foldable phones, the 7400X offers additional improvements in these areas.
Smartphones carrying the new Dimensity 7400 and 7400X processors are expected to be released in the first quarter of 2025.
