Chinese company Meizu is making a comeback. Along with the Meizu 22 launch date, the company has also released the first official image revealing the device’s design. This image confirms a flat screen, a sleek metal frame, and a striking quad rear camera setup. Meizu aims to push the boundaries of design and performance with its new flagship.
What will the Meizu 22 be like?
One of Meizu’s most confident areas is the phone’s display design. Thanks to the company’s proprietary LIPO (Lithography-based Patterning and Etching Process) technology, the Meizu 22 will feature symmetrical bezels of just 1.2 mm on all four sides. This value makes the device the “world’s narrowest bezel smartphone.” Furthermore, its 71 mm body width suggests the phone will offer comfortable one-handed operation despite its powerful hardware.

The Meizu 22 will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest, most powerful processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Developed using 4nm process technology, this chipset, combined with the Adreno 825 GPU, promises a high-end performance and gaming experience. This powerful processor is also paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB/512GB UFS 4.0 storage options, ensuring a smooth and fast user experience.
Camera Capabilities: 50MP Sensors in Every Corner
Meizu is also quite ambitious about its camera setup. Details of the quad-camera setup teased in the teasers have been revealed:
- Main Camera: 50MP OmniVision OV50H sensor with f/1.68 aperture and OIS support.
- Ultra Wide Angle: 50MP OV50D sensor with a 122-degree field of view and macro shooting from 2.5cm.
- Periscope Telephoto: 50MP LYT-600 sensor with OIS support, providing 3x optical zoom.
- Front Camera: Surprisingly, a 50MP OV50D sensor with a 90-degree ultra-wide angle is also featured on the front.
Other notable technical features of the Meizu 22 include:
- Display: 6.3-inch 2.5D OLED flat screen with 1.5K resolution.
- Battery: A large 5500mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging and wireless charging support.
- Software: The latest Flyme OS 11 interface based on Android 15.
- Security: An in-display 3D Sonic ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
- Audio: Stereo speakers and USB Type-C audio output.
- Connectivity: The latest connectivity technologies such as Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, 5G, and NFC.
Meizu is shifting its strategy this year, offering a single, powerful Meizu 22 model instead of separate versions like standard and Pro. All features and pricing information of the device will become clear at the official launch next week.
