Mercedes announced its sales figures for the second quarter of 2024. The company, which cannot get what it wants like many brands in the market on the electric car side, will apparently give more importance to internal combustion engines. Here are Mercedes’ sales figures for 2024.
Mercedes EQS sales fell by 57 percent!
Electric car sales in Europe were not as desired this year. Apparently the situation is the same all over the world. Mercedes, which announced its US sales figures today, has become one of the brands that cannot get what it wants from electricity. Mercedes, which sold a total of 2,556 EQS in the second quarter of this year, sold a total of 5,990 in the same period last year. In other words, there is a decline of 57 percent.
The same situation exists in the EQE model. The company, which made 7 thousand 410 sales in the same period last year, decreased by 47 percent to 3 thousand 911 sales this year. Although there was an 88 percent increase in EQB sales, EQB, which recorded 3 thousand 173 sales in the third quarter of this year, did not make Mercedes’ electric car wing happy.
When we look at the C Series and E Series sales figures in the same period, we see an increase of 4 percent and 7 percent, respectively, compared to last year. Observing increases of 6 percent and 28 percent in its larger GLE and GLS models, Mercedes recorded a decrease of 19 percent in GLA sales, 12 percent in GLB sales and 1 percent in GLC. The company’s affordable sedan CLA sold 2,985 units, with an increase of 5 percent.
Even though it recorded a 1 percent decrease, the best-selling Mercedes model in the second quarter of the year seems to be GLC with 17 thousand 491 units. Mercedes, which has announced that it will give priority to internal combustion engines over electric models for now, let’s see if it can reach the desired level in sales figures in the coming days.
