Mercedes-Benz is preparing to unveil its new generation electric minivan model, the VLE, which blends luxury and technology, at a special event in Stuttgart on March 10th. Inspired by the Vision V concept, this model represents the beginning of a new era in the brand’s vision for electric light commercial and passenger vehicles.
Mercedes VLE on the Showcase
The first leaked visuals highlight the star-motif LED daytime running lights and massive front grille design, suggesting that the production version will present the concept’s futuristic lines in a more balanced and production-ready form. Moving away from the angular and simple lines of traditional minivans, the VLE promises a more dynamic silhouette with its low roofline and muscular side profiles.

This model is the first vehicle to be built on Mercedes-Benz’s modular and scalable VAN.EA platform, designed from scratch exclusively for electric vehicles. From an engineering standpoint, the VLE aims to combine the comfort of a limousine with the spaciousness of an MPV, appealing to a wide range of users from families to VIP transport services with its flexible seating arrangement for up to eight people.
Inside, the massive MBUX Hyperscreen cockpit, powered by the MB.OS operating system, and intelligent storage solutions push the boundaries of digital luxury. The higher-segment VLS version, with its four-seat configuration and giant 4K entertainment screen in the rear, is expected to offer a truly chauffeur-driven mobile office experience.
Technically, the VLE is also impressive, offering ultra-fast charging support up to 350 kW thanks to its 800V electrical architecture, minimizing charging stops on long journeys. Equipped with battery capacities ranging from 90 kWh to 120 kWh to suit different needs, the vehicle can offer a range of over 500 kilometers in its most efficient configuration.
Power options range from entry-level 268 horsepower units to 470 horsepower in dual-motor all-wheel-drive versions. With the VLE, Mercedes-Benz aims to raise the bar considerably in the electric minivan segment, both in terms of design aesthetics and technological features.
