Mercedes-Benz has introduced the ability to participate in video conferencing via Microsoft Teams while driving with the new-generation CLA model. This step makes it the first automaker to allow active video meeting participation while driving. The system, which integrates the in-car camera, streams the driver’s video feed directly to the meeting.
Mercedes to offer video conferencing while driving
With this new feature, a Mercedes driver can participate in Microsoft Teams meetings while driving and hold video calls from within the vehicle. The system has certain limitations for driving safety.

Visual content such as screen sharing, presentations, or slideshows are not displayed to the driver while the vehicle is in motion. During this time, only the driver’s camera remains on, and its image is transmitted to the meeting. This allows video conferencing while driving, but the content display is disabled to reduce distractions.
This new feature will be available first on the 2026 CLA Shooting Brake. With this feature, which will be available this summer, Mercedes-Benz is expanding its in-car digital productivity tools. Microsoft 365 Copilot integration is also among the planned systems. With this integration, email summarization, task tracking, and various business process management will be possible directly from the vehicle using the voice-activated assistant.
Microsoft Teams integration is expected to extend beyond the CLA model to other Mercedes models running the MB.OS operating system. The company previously offered selfie camera support for TikTok and Zoom in its E-Class vehicles. With this new step, Mercedes continues to integrate in-car technologies with office functionality.
Mercedes-Benz is positioning the vehicle interior as a third workspace. This new feature stands out as part of a technological transformation that transforms mobility from a mere means of transportation to a productive platform.
