The affordable Apple Vision Pro might have been canceled!
At WWDC 2023, Apple unveiled the Vision Pro mixed reality headset, which garnered significant attention. The AR/VR headset has been eagerly awaited since its announcement. However, recent news suggests there may be troubling issues surrounding the product. Today’s reports indicate that the headset might be experiencing hardware and supply problems.
As is well known, the Apple Vision Pro made quite a splash with its features since its announcement. However, the device’s $3,500 price tag raised concerns about its sales prospects. Alongside this, there were claims that Apple was working on a more affordable mixed reality headset.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, on the other hand, suggests the opposite. Kuo emphasized in his report that the device is facing supply issues. He also stated that initially, fewer Vision Pro units would be produced, which would not be sufficient to meet the planned demand for the upcoming year.
As a result, Kuo indicated that the affordable Vision Pro planned for 2025 has also been canceled. Additionally, Vision Pro 2 is expected to enter mass production no later than the first half of 2027. Furthermore, Kuo touched on a different topic.
According to the analyst, Apple will not offer a hardware upgrade until the second generation of the headset. Therefore, he suggests that unless Apple reduces the cost, Vision Pro may not see an increase in shipments.
