Technology giant Meta has considered collaborating with its rivals Google and OpenAI to strengthen its position in the AI race. According to the latest reports, Meta’s AI division, Superintelligence Labs, is considering leveraging models from Google and OpenAI until its own AI model, Llama 5, is ready.
Meta May Collaborate with OpenAI and Google
According to reports, Meta plans to integrate Google’s Gemini model to improve the performance of its AI assistant, Meta AI. This integration will enable Meta AI to provide more powerful and comprehensive responses to user requests.
Similarly, the use of OpenAI’s AI models in various Meta applications is also under consideration. This move is seen as a strategy to maintain Meta’s competitiveness in the market until it develops its own model.
Meta is reportedly considering this collaboration as a transitional solution, not a permanent partnership. The company’s primary goal is to bring its in-house developed Llama 5 model to a level where it can compete with the most powerful AI models on the market. The company has now begun testing such external models in some of its internal systems. It’s known that third-party models are being tested in the coding assistant Meta employees use.
