Microsoft is preparing to bring Halo and Flight Simulator to Switch 2 and PS5
On the other hand, Microsoft’s console Xbox is also preparing to bring Final Fantasy VII: Remake (2025) and Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth (2026) with the Switch 2. So these moves show that the gaming industry is moving away from the platform-specific game strategy that used to be common in the past and adopting a multi-platform strategy that aims to reach a wider audience.
Obviously, it is curious how Flight Simulator will perform on a portable device like Nintendo Switch 2. Because this game requires a serious hardware load even on more powerful systems. Switch 2 is rumored to use NVIDIA’s Tegra 239 chipset and will have an 8-core ARM Cortex-A78 CPU. However, details about the graphics processor have not yet been revealed.
These games are expected to be released in 2025. In short, judging by the new developments, we can say that platform-specific gaming is being replaced by multi-platform gaming. Nevertheless, it is stated that major game companies will continue temporary exclusive game deals in certain periods to increase sales.
