Microsoft has released a comprehensive update for the Edge browser with version number 138.0.3351.55. Three new features focused on artificial intelligence were added to the browser with the update. Performance improvements and various security fixes were also offered to users with this version.
Edge browser increased artificial intelligence support
The most striking innovation of the update was the chat summary tool that works integrated with Microsoft Copilot. Users can quickly summarize the content of the web pages they visit with this feature, which can be accessed from the right-click menu.

The system analyzes the page content and converts it into meaningful text and offers users readable content in a short time. The feature was developed especially for users who work with long texts or who want to access information quickly.
The second Copilot-supported feature is the artificial intelligence-supported search system integrated into the new tab page. Users can direct their queries directly to artificial intelligence via the Copilot icon added to the search bar. This system provides suggestions during the search, allowing the user to reach the target information faster. The feature is aimed to make the search experience more dynamic and interactive.
The third important innovation is the AI-supported history search feature. Searches made in the browser history can now yield results not only from directly typed words, but also from synonyms, different expressions or misspellings.
It was stated that this system works entirely on the device and that user data is not sent to Microsoft servers. In addition, users can disable this feature from the settings if they wish.
Microsoft stated that the new features aim to speed up and personalize users’ browser experience. Copilot’s deeper integration with the browser is considered a step that reinforces Edge’s position as a productivity-focused tool. The update is distributed automatically without users having to manually install it.
