Microsoft has begun work to integrate Steam, the largest digital store in the gaming world, into the Xbox platform. With the inclusion of Steam in the Microsoft Store, Xbox users will be able to access their libraries directly from the console.
Microsoft will integrate Steam into the Xbox ecosystem
According to the latest information, the company is currently testing an application called “Steam Developer Beta”. This application will allow Steam to work directly from the Xbox interface. The application, which is currently only accessible to employees, is planned to be made available to everyone in the future.

With this step, Microsoft has also revealed its vision for the next generation Xbox consoles. The company is working on a structure where the consoles will be closer to the PC architecture in terms of hardware and software. The developed Xbox / Steam integration will be directly supported by the next generation consoles. In this way, users will be able to access both Xbox and Steam content from a single platform.
It is not yet known whether Steam integration will be offered to the current Xbox Series X|S consoles. However, claims indicate that Microsoft will introduce two different Xbox models in the coming period.
One of these is expected to be a standard home console, while the other is expected to be a portable model. It has been reported that both devices are being developed with a PC-based infrastructure and that Steam support will be included in this architecture.
This move by the company is considered as part of its efforts to transform Xbox into a universal gaming platform. So what do you think about this? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
