An important transfer took place in the world of artificial intelligence. Sebastien Bubeck, Microsoft’s vice president of artificial intelligence research, parted ways with the software giant and moved to OpenAI. This move reveals the increasing competition in artificial intelligence between technology giants.
Microsoft artificial intelligence manager will now work with OpenAI
Sebastien Bubeck, Vice President of Artificial Intelligence Research at Microsoft, has left his position to work at OpenAI. The artificial intelligence giant, which has suffered major losses in recent days, has started to use one of its biggest partners.
According to a Microsoft spokesperson, Bubeck was leading overall AI development research at Microsoft. But he will advance this important work with his new position at OpenAI. This news comes after OpenAI has experienced some changes in its own management in recent months.
The company’s technology director Mira Murati left in September. However, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said that this has nothing to do with any organizational restructuring. Nor did the company hire a new CTO.
Bubeck’s new position at OpenAI has not been fully disclosed. But he is expected to play a key role in helping OpenAI achieve its goal of building advanced AI systems. His expertise will now be used at OpenAI to guide their progress.
Bubeck is known at Microsoft for his research on small language models, known as Phi LLM, and many of the people who worked on Bubeck’s project will remain at Microsoft to continue developing these technologies.
