Microsoft is one of the best tech giants companies. It has many applications, software, and more. According to the latest reports, the company is putting more ads in the Outlook mobile for iOS and Android in recent months. Here are the details about Microsoft’s ads.
Microsoft puts more email ads in Outlook
The tech giant has started to show more ads in Outlook on iOS and Android in the last months. The ads are like an email, but there is a sign that points out the “Ad”. The Outlook mobile app provides users with two options to organize their inboxes. They can use a single inbox with everything in it or they can use a tabbed inbox split into two categories. These categories are “focused” with important mails and “Other” with all the rest.
Microsoft has already put ads in the “Other” tab for free users. However, there are also ads in the single-inbox mode anymore. The company is trying to raise its income from Outlook with more ads, but this bothers free users. They will need to pay for a Microsoft 365 subscription not to see ads while using the mail app.
Caitlin Roulston, a spokesperson from Microsoft, says,” For free users of Outlook, ads are shown in their inbox and they can choose to enable the ‘Focused inbox‘ feature if they would like to see ads only in the ‘Other’ inbox. Additionally, you can delete the ad mails, but they will reappear. When you tap one of them, it will display within the in-app browser.
There is a way to get rid of the Outlook ads. Users can subscribe to the Microsoft 365 by paying its cost. Then, it will remove the ads from the Outlook app on iOS or Android. A Personal subscription costs $69.99 per year and includes access to Microsoft Office apps, a number of premium features for Outlook, and 1TB of cloud storage. The family plan is $99.99 and offers the same for up to six people.
