Microsoft has announced Copilot for Gaming, an artificial intelligence assistant that will guide Xbox players during gameplay. The feature, which will initially be accessible via the Xbox mobile app, will act as an assistant screen during gameplay and guide players.
Microsoft will integrate the Copilot assistant into games
Copilot for Gaming will not only provide in-game tips, but will also support the user in downloading and launching games. Microsoft’s Game AI Product Manager Sonali Yadav explained how the system will work with some examples.

In an Overwatch 2 demo, Copilot noticed that the player was attacking without teammates, indicated that this was a mistake, and offered suggestions for team harmony. In another demonstration made via Minecraft, the AI tracked the player’s movements on the screen and told them which materials to produce and how.
However, these features were only shown as concepts for now. It is stated that these advanced capabilities will not be included in the first version of Copilot. Microsoft will begin testing the early version of the assistant on mobile devices as part of the Xbox Insiders program in April. During this process, the system will be developed by receiving feedback from players.
Microsoft hasn’t yet determined what structure Copilot for Gaming will have. However, the concepts the company has shown provide important clues about how an AI-powered gaming assistant could be integrated into the Xbox ecosystem. So what do you think about this?
