Xiaomi has launched its newest cleaning device, the Mijia Lightweight Vacuum Cleaner, designed for users who want power without bulk. Priced at just CNY 359 (~$51), this ultra-light vacuum is compact, USB-C chargeable, and surprisingly powerful for its weight class.

At the heart of the vacuum is a 110,000 rpm motor, delivering up to 22,000 Pa of suction (or 50AW). That puts it well above average for small cordless vacuums in this price bracket. Xiaomi describes the unit as “agile,” emphasizing its ease of use for overhead cleaning, tight corners, and high shelves.

The vacuum supports multiple power modes and ships with two brush heads:

    • A 250 mm wide stick brush for floors and open surfaces
    • A compact crevice tool for tight spots and precision work

Weight varies based on setup. With the crevice tool, it weighs just 860 g (about 30 oz). Fully assembled with the stick brush, it comes in at 1.42 kg (around 50 oz).

Despite its compact size, Xiaomi hasn’t cut corners on filtration. The vacuum features a five-stage filtration system capable of capturing 99.9% of dust, down to particles as small as 0.3 microns. Several filter components are washable, and the 200 ml dustbin offers enough capacity for small- to medium-sized tasks.

Powering the device are four 2,000 mAh lithium-ion batteries, offering:

    • 40 minutes of run time in eco mode
    • Around 10 minutes at max power

The device charges via USB-C, though it does not include a docking station—a possible drawback for users looking for wall-mounted convenience.

As of now, the Mijia Lightweight Vacuum Cleaner is only available in China, and Xiaomi has not confirmed a global release. That said, the brand recently introduced the Truclean W30 Pro Wet Dry Vacuum in Europe, hinting at an ongoing international expansion of its cleaning products.

At just over $50, the Mijia Lightweight Vacuum Cleaner offers solid specs for budget-conscious shoppers. While it won’t replace a high-end upright, it’s shaping up to be a reliable pick for small apartments, dorms, or quick cleanups—assuming it makes it beyond China’s borders.
