Mojang has released a new update for Minecraft titled “Tricky Trials” that introduces version 1.21. The update focuses on adding challenging new underground structures called Trial Chambers along with hostile mobs and loot to discover.
Minecraft Gets Trickier with New 1.21 “Tricky Trials” Update
Trial Chambers are the headline feature. Procedurally generated below ground, these dungeon-like zones are filled with traps, enemies, and rewards if you can survive. Central to each Trial Chamber is the new Trial Spawner block. This modified spawner will spawn a set number of enemies on an interval that must all be defeated to receive loot from the spawner.
Two new hostile mobs debut in Trial Chambers. The Breeze shoots explode projectiles like the Blaze but controls wind forces. Joining them are the poison arrow-wielding Bogged variant skeleton that can also spawn in swamps. Surviving these Trial Chambers won’t be easy!
Other additions include the Crafter, an automated crafting table powered by redstone that can be fed inventory slots to craft items without player input. This opens up industrial factory-style farms and automation in a new way.
For combat, the mace weapon allows powerful downward smashing strikes. And wolves can now naturally generate in more biomes, growing collectible wolf populations.
With perilous new underground challenges, hostile mobs, loot incentives, and factory-tier crafting possibilities, the Tricky Trials update drastically expands Minecraft’s danger and gameplay potential. Update 1.21 promises to keep Survival even more tricky.
