Asus’s gaming division, ROG, recently shared that the upcoming Asus ROG Phone 8 series and new products such as laptops are scheduled to be unveiled on January 8th, one day before CES 2024, which is set to begin on January 9th.
The ROG Phone 8 series recently appeared in the Geekbench database with model numbers AI2401_D and AI2401_A. According to this data, the standard model achieved scores of 2,213 in single-core tests and 7,048 in multi-core tests. The Pro model’s scores were measured at 2,271 and 7,360, respectively.
Looking at the Geekbench database, we can confirm that the phones will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Qualcomm continues its collaboration with TSMC for the new processor, which is manufactured using 4nm technology. The processor features 1 ARM Cortex-X4 core clocked at 3.3 GHz, 3 ARM Cortex-A720 cores at 3.2 GHz, 2 ARM Cortex-A720 cores at 3.0 GHz, and 2 ARM Cortex-A520 cores at 2.3 GHz. Additionally, the new chipset includes the Adreno 750 graphics unit with Ray Tracing support.
Another detail revealed in the performance tests is the amount of RAM in the devices. Accordingly, the standard model will have 16 GB of RAM, while the Pro model will boast 24 GB of RAM. It’s worth noting that there may be additional RAM and memory options. Finally, both devices will run on Android 14.
