As you know, the AI wars have recently officially expanded into the world of smartphones: With the expected battle between Apple Intelligence and Samsung Galaxy AI, a strong new contender has joined the race: Motorola. And the company isn’t hiding how ambitious it is in this space. Here’s what you need to know…
Motorola could surprise its competitors with its vision!
At the Lenovo Tech World ’24 event, Motorola revealed its new AI vision. The company’s Large Action Model (LAM) aims to make users’ daily lives easier. This system, combined with the existing capabilities of Moto AI, will allow users to perform complex tasks with simple voice commands.
For example, when you say “Order me an iced coffee”, Moto AI will find the nearest coffee shop and place your order without hesitation, notifying you when it’s ready. The same feature can be used for daily tasks like calling an Uber or taxi. In this way, Moto AI will identify the cheapest, most suitable, and quickest option with its algorithm when you tell it your destination, without asking you extra questions.
The company is also testing new AI features like ‘Catch Me Up’ and ‘Remember This’ in beta. ‘Catch Me Up’ summarizes notifications, allowing users to get important information without having to read through dozens of messages. ‘Remember This’ enables users to capture important moments or information on the screen.
Additionally, thanks to a collaboration with Meta, it’s now possible to use smartphone functions in Quest virtual reality glasses. Users can check their messages and access their apps without taking off their glasses.
In June, partnering with Google, Motorola introduced Moto Magic Canvas and Style Sync features to the Razr 2024 series, innovations that could help the company stand out from its competitors. Let’s see if they can maintain their foothold in the industry.
