Mozilla has made a comprehensive innovation in the browser’s address bar with Firefox 138. Moving away from the classic structure where only the web address is entered, the address bar becomes a versatile control area that provides direct access to browser functions.
Mozilla Firefox finally offers the expected innovation
Users can now perform operations such as deleting history, viewing add-ons, opening downloaded files or managing saved passwords directly from the address bar using the “@action” command. Thanks to this feature, there is no need to navigate between menus and operations can be performed practically.

Other keywords added to the address bar include “@tabs”, “@bookmarks” and “@history”. Using these commands, users can search between open tabs, access saved bookmarks or easily find pages visited in the past.
The search experience has also been simplified with the new interface. Now, when a search engine is selected, the query remains in the address bar and is presented to the user visually without being replaced with a URL. This provides great convenience for users who want to narrow down their searches or change the query.
Another change that came with Firefox 138 was the URL display format in the address bar. After the update, the browser no longer displays the “https://” prefix in addresses. This provides a simpler and more readable appearance.
Mozilla states that these changes will improve users’ web experience both visually and functionally. What do you think about this? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
