MSI did not mention much about the technical features of the Claw 8 AI+ handheld console that it introduced at the Computex fair a few months ago. This next-generation portable gaming device will be equipped with Intel’s Lunar Lake series processors , which have not yet been released, and will offer very powerful hardware features. Here are the details…
MSI Claw 8 AI+ comes with Intel Lunar Lake processor and 80Wh battery
The MSI Claw 8 AI+ features several significant upgrades over its predecessor, the Claw 7. On the processor side, the Intel Core Ultra 200V (Lunar Lake) processor is used instead of the Intel Core Ultra 100H (Meteor Lake) used in the Claw 7. This change will significantly improve the performance of the device.
Memory capacity has also seen a big increase; the Claw 8 AI+ uses LPDDR5X-8533 memory, while the Claw 7 had LPDDR5-6400 memory. The screen size has also increased from 7 inches to 8 inches and has a 120Hz variable refresh rate.
The new device comes with a massive 80Wh battery, which is a significant improvement over the 53Wh battery of the Claw 7 and promises longer gaming times. It also supports M.2 2280 SSD for storage capacity , which means larger storage and faster data transfers.
The connectivity options on the Claw 8 AI+ have also been expanded. The device offers dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, meaning faster data transfers and greater expandability. While pricing and release dates have not yet been announced, it is expected to be available after Intel’s new Lunar Lake processors are released.
