Elon Musk is adding the long-awaited video support for X. It was stated that video chat will be possible for voice chat rooms Spaces. Now users will be able to talk by turning on their cameras whenever they want.
X Spaces will offer video support
Elon Musk had announced plans to bring a video feature to Spaces, Twitter’s voice chat feature. Some users shared that they were able to access this feature. In X Spaces rooms, it will now be possible to open the camera and talk with video.
Speaking at a Spaces session in recent months, Musk said that the company is working to add video functionality to this feature. It was stated that conversations will be more interactive thanks to video-supported Spaces rooms. Musk said that seeing the body language and facial expressions of other participants is important in chat rooms.
Users will be able to turn their cameras on and off at any time. When there is more than one speaker, it will switch according to the user speaking, similar to Google Meet. Video will allow for more interaction between users and listeners without the need for another platform.
For those who don’t know, X first launched Spaces in 2021 as a competitor to its audio room service Clubhouse. While Clubhouse is now forgotten, Spaces has its own unique user base.
On the other hand, in recent months, X has launched a passkey feature in its iOS app. This means that you can log in with biometric verification instead of using your account password.
