Microsoft has announced that NBA 2K24 is coming to Game Pass later this month. The professional basketball simulation was surprisingly announced for all subscribers. Let’s take a look at the release date!
NBA 2K24 will join the Game Pass library on March 11
NBA 2K24 will be available through Game Pass on both console and cloud. 2K24, the latest installment in 2K’s popular basketball franchise, was originally released in September 2023. So it will be available on Game Pass in just 6 months.
The game sold more than 7 million copies, but this figure fell short of parent company Take-Two’s expectations. Whether this has anything to do with whether or not it’s coming to Game Pass is unknown. In any case, it’s thought that by opening the game to Game Pass subscribers, Take-Two could help the game reach more people and generate more revenue from in-game sales.
Take-Two has stated that it doesn’t believe in services like Game Pass for its new games, but that it would consider bringing its games to the service on a rolling basis rather than at launch. It looks like NBA 2K24 is the first step in that plan.
March will be a busy month for Game Pass. In addition to NBA 2K24, on March 12, SpongeBob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated on March 12, Control’s Ultimate Edition on March 13, No More Heroes 3 on March 14, and MLB The Show 24 on March 19.
