Netflix’s ad-supported plan may block offline viewing

Netflix is one of the best streaming services with its content, advantages, and optional tiers. The company announced that the ad-supported tier would come with lower prices. However, this subscription plan seems to have a drawback when available. Here are the details about Netflix’s ad-supported tier.

Netflix with ads subscribers may not be able to watch offline

Currently, Netflix has three subscription plans. For $9.99 a month, you can have the standard definition content and the ability to watch TV on one screen at a time. For $14.99 a month, you can watch the content in HD and on two screens simultaneously. When you pay $19.99 a month, you will have access to care in UHD (with 4K and HDR) on four screens at a time.

Netflix’s upcoming ad-supported tier might not be a good alternative to other plans. Developer Steve Moser has announced that text within the code of Netflix’s iPhone app says “Downloads available on all plans except Netflix with ads.” That means users will not be able to watch the content while offline. Netflix didn’t make an explanation about this issue yet.

However, the company said, “We are still in the early days of deciding how to launch a lower priced, ad-supported option and no decisions have been made. So this is all just speculation at this point.” If this claim is real, Netflix could lose more subscribers. Users are mostly downloading movies or series on their devices, then watching them.

The streaming service has also announced that the ad-supported tier could have some different content from other subscription tiers. Netflix might remove the offline option in order to challenge other platforms with not offline content because most of the other platforms, such as HBO Max, and Hulu, don’t have even a download function.
