Netflix’s assignment of two screenwriters with experience in science fiction-based productions to the project suggests that the series will focus more on the episodes set in modern times in the Assassin’s Creed universe. The mysterious Animus technology that underlies the game series allows users to access the genetic memories of their ancestors. The series adaptation is also expected to deal with this theme in depth.

The new team of writers will complete the script drafts in the coming weeks and present them to Netflix management.
