The latest announcements confirm that Netflix will direct users in some countries towards the ad-supported or more expensive Standard and Premium plans instead of the Basic subscription package.
Although recent package changes have gradually started to turn people away from Netflix, millions of users still maintain their subscriptions. Today’s announcement reveals that the affordable ad-free package will be discontinued in the UK and France, and users will be pushed to choose between the affordable ad-supported package or the more expensive ad-free packages.
