Concrete details have emerged about the long-anticipated Assassin’s Creed series, which Netflix announced in 2020. Filming is expected to begin soon, and the series will explore a historical period not previously directly explored in the popular game series.
Assassin’s Creed Series Will Be Set in Ancient Rome
According to the latest information, the Netflix-produced series will reportedly take place during the Ancient Roman period. The series’ story will center around a group of young characters. The production, which recently entered the casting process, is reportedly set to portray one of these young characters.

The series will also feature prominent figures from Roman history, including Emperor Nero and his mentor Seneca the Younger. While the Assassin’s Creed game series has explored many different eras, no specific game set in Ancient Rome has been produced before. This means the series will not be a direct game adaptation.
This important information has not yet been officially confirmed by Netflix. However, the fact that the series has entered the casting process and scripts have begun to be sent to the actors increases the likelihood of such information leaking.
The series’ team includes two key figures: Roberto Patino and David Wiener. Patino previously worked on the writing teams for series such as Westworld and The Sons of Anarchy. Wiener, on the other hand, worked as a writer and producer on the Halo adaptation and was also one of the creators of the Brave New World adaptation, released in 2020.
