After several delays due to difficulties with the script, The Batman 2 has finally completed filming. Filming for the highly anticipated sequel is set to begin early next year.
The Batman 2 is Coming
With filming underway, new details about the film are also emerging. According to the latest information, The Batman 2’s story is more closely linked to The Penguin series than expected.

Colin Farrell, who plays Oswald Cobblepot (Penguin) in the Matt Reeves-directed Gotham universe, stated that the story wouldn’t be picked up immediately when asked about a second season of The Penguin. According to Farrell, The Batman 2’s story takes place just a few weeks after the events of The Penguin series.
Due to this short timeframe, the story of a potential second season of The Penguin would have to take place after the events of The Batman 2. Farrell stated that this complicates matters for the series’ second season. Farrell’s statement clarifies that there won’t be a significant narrative leap between the first two Batman films.
Robert Pattinson returns as Bruce Wayne (Batman) in The Batman 2. Colin Farrell (Penguin), Andy Serkis (Alfred), and Jeffrey Wright (Commissioner Gordon) will also reprise their roles from the first film.
Meanwhile, it’s not yet confirmed whether Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman will appear in the second film. Information about the film’s main story remains limited, but it’s rumored that the film’s main villain won’t be the Penguin or the Joker, but rather a different character with ties to Arkham Asylum.
