Microsoft is preparing for a new collaboration with Discord in order to make the Xbox Game Pass service more flexible. Microsoft Gaming CEO Asha Sharma stated that the details of this partnership will be shared soon and that some users might start seeing new clues in the system codes.
New Subscription Models on the Way
This announcement came just a day after Microsoft went for a discount in Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscription prices in the US market. This move by the company focuses on changing the structure of the Game Pass packages rather than adding a new social feature.
The integration process between Xbox and Discord had started with the voice chat support that came to consoles in 2022. Then in 2023, the game broadcasting feature, and in 2024, functions such as direct calling and broadcast watching were included in the system.
Currently, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can benefit from a one-month Discord Nitro advantage as of April 1, 2026. This current situation shows that a more comprehensive Nitro membership or more affordable options like Nitro Basic could be included in Game Pass packages in the future.

Microsoft’s strategy is not limited only to Discord. It is known that the company is also holding talks with different third-party services like Netflix to enrich its subscription packages. Microsoft aims to diversify the user experience by bringing Game Pass to a more flexible structure.
