Google has started offering new features powered by Gemini AI for Workspace users. The update, which will be available gradually as of June 12, makes it possible to access information faster, especially in PDF files and Google Forms responses in Google Drive. Gemini can now automatically summarize the content of PDF files as soon as they are opened and offer suggested actions based on the file content.
Google Gemini can now summarize PDFs and Forms
Gemini, which displays the prominent details in PDF files as cards, offers the user buttons where they can take direct action. For example, when a resume file is opened, options such as “prepare interview questions based on this CV” or “prepare sample offer” in an offer document appear on the screen.

These operations can be done directly from the side panel in Drive. The feature supports more than 20 languages, but it may take a few weeks for all users to reach it. On the Google Forms side, a new Gemini feature is being launched that summarizes the responses given to questions containing short answers or paragraphs.
Basic themes and prominent points are determined by considering the form title, description, questions and answers given. These summaries can be viewed in the Answers tab for questions that have received more than three responses. Currently available in English only, this feature will be available to the general public on June 26.
Additionally, a new “create for me” feature has been introduced for Google Forms. Users can create a form by describing it and include Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, or PDF documents in the description so that Gemini can take this content into account.
For example, a carpentry company can upload its product catalog to the system and create an automatic quote form to be sent to customers. This feature will be available in English only and will be available to Workspace users on July 7.
