The second season of The Last of Us is currently filming as you know. Previously, we learned that Kaitlyn Dever was chosen for the character of Abby. Now the cast of The Last of Us season 2 has taken shape. Here are the details.
The Last of Us season 2 cast has taken shape
No One Can Save You’s Kaitlyn Dever will play Abby, the show’s co-lead character. Madame Web’s Isabela Merced and Beef’s Young Mazino will star as Ellie’s friends Dina and Jesse, respectively. Now, four new cast members have been announced to fill out Abby’s group of friends from Seattle: Owen, Mel, Nora and Manny.
Danny Ramirez (Top Gun: Maverick) will play Manny, Abby’s roommate and best friend, Tati Gabrielle (You) will star as Washington paramedic Nora, and Ariela Barer and Spencer Lord will round out the Seattle crew as Mel and Owen, the other elements in Abby’s love triangle.
It means that the roles of some of Abby’s friends from the game, such as Jordan, Nick and Leah, will not be played by known actors. But as casting is now starting to focus on Abby’s friends rather than Ellie’s friends, their announcements are likely to come. Of course, it is also possible that these characters will not appear in the series.
Those who played The Last of Us Part II will recall that these characters were Ellie’s targets in a revenge story that began at Ellie’s home in Wyoming and then traveled to the war zone of post-apocalyptic Seattle.
It’s currently unclear which parts of which storyline the second season will show, as series director Craig Mazin has said that the events of Part II will likely span multiple seasons. There is still no confirmation on who will play Lev.
The first season of The Last of Us continues to win many awards, including Pedro Pascal winning an award at the SAG Awards for his role as Joel.
The second season is therefore eagerly awaited. What do you think about the cast of The Last of Us season 2? Please don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments section.
