Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to be released in April 2025, although the exact release date is not known. However, although there is almost four months left until the release of the model, the Nintendo Switch 2 design has not emerged. The first detailed information about the design came from a company that produces cases for the Switch 2 console.

Nintendo Switch 2 design finally revealed!

Nintendo’s secretive Switch 2 design was finally revealed. Accordingly, the new Nintendo Switch model will be longer and wider than both the Switch and Switch OLED model. However, the thickness of the new Switch model is almost the same as the old one.

The case called KillSwitch, presented by Dbrand, was developed for the new Switch console. In this sense, the company published 3D images and videos of the case on its website. The company confirmed that it received details about the design of the Nintendo Switch 2 model from Nintendo.

According to the case, Switch 2 dimensions are 270 mm wide, 116 mm high and 14 mm thin. The Nintendo Switch model was 242 mm wide, 102 mm high and 13.9 mm thin. In short, we will see a much bigger and heavier Nintendo Switch 2 model.

As you know, Switch is a portable game console. In this sense, the case is one of the important apparatus for the Switch 2 model, especially in the US and Japanese markets. In this sense, case manufacturers such as Dbrand can produce cases for Switch 2 even before the model is released.

However, the official name of the model has not yet been revealed. Dbrand’s use of a case name called KillSwitch may indicate that the new Switch will have much more ambitious features. Especially on the screen side, it seems that we will see a much larger and brighter screen. There is also a mysterious Joy-Con button under the Home button on the new Switch case design. In terms of processor and graphics, it is unclear what the model will offer.

As you know, SteamDeck and many companies such as Lenovo, MSI, Asus, ROG started to produce portable handheld consoles. It is also rumored that PlayStation is taking action for a more realistic handheld console than PlayStation Portal. In short, unlike the Switch, the Switch 2 model will have to struggle with too many competitors in its own class.

However, Nintendo is one of the important actors in console production and sales. Especially in Japan and the US market, Nintendo has a bone mass. There is also a significant Nintendo audience in the Far East. In this sense, if the new Nintendo Switch does not disappoint, it has a huge fan base advantage over its competitors. However, this fan base is among the important factors in the decline in sales of disappointing Nintendo consoles.
