Developed by SHIFT UP, the science fiction-themed action-adventure game Stellar Blade was released on the PC platform last week. The game has earned the title of Sony’s most successful single-player PC game launch to date with its performance since its first days. The game, which attracted attention with its launch on Steam, reached a large player base in a very short time.
Stellar Blade has had a good start on the PC platform
Stellar Blade, which reached 192,078 concurrent players on Steam during its launch week, almost tripled the previous record of 77,154 held by Ghost of Tsushima. This result left behind other major productions that Sony has ported to the PC, such as God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last of Us and Uncharted.
The game sold 1 million copies on PC in just three days, which directly reflected this interest in its sales figures. Thus, Stellar Blade took the top spot among non-multiplayer games. The game, which received a “Very Positive” rating on Steam from over 20 thousand reviews, also made a strong debut with feedback from players.
Helldivers 2, which is still at the top of the multiplayer games category, is ahead with 458,709 simultaneous players, but the success that Stellar Blade has achieved as a product of an independent studio has a different importance. The game, which is the first major international launch of SHIFT UP, also performed flawlessly in technical terms during its arrival on PC.
The production, supported by advanced graphics technologies such as DLSS 4, received positive feedback in terms of both visuals and optimization. It is considered that Sony will be able to open up more space for collaborations with independent studios in the future with this success.
