The long-awaited new trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has finally been released, giving fans their first glimpse of the highly anticipated Marvel movie. The trailer shows Peter Parker reuniting with Gwen Stacy, only to be catapulted across the multiverse and into a nexus inhabited by a team of Spider-People tasked with protecting reality.

However, when a new threat emerges, Miles finds himself at odds with his alternate reality counterparts and must redefine what it means to be a hero in order to save the people he loves the most. While details on the story have been scarce so far, it has been revealed that the film will feature a massive cast of around 240 characters, including the return of Shameik Moore as Miles Morales/Spider-Man, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman, and Jake Johnson as the older Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
Oscar Isaac will also make a return appearance as Miguel O’Hara/Spider-Man 2099, while new cast members include Issa Rae as classic Spider-Woman, Jessica Drew, and Japanese actor Takuya Yamashiro as the Spider-Man from the 1978 Japanese animated Spider-Man show. Daniel Kaluuya will voice Spider-Punk and Jason Schwartzman will play the Spot, a mid-1980s supervillain who uses interdimensional portals across his body to commit crimes.
Just like the first film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse promises to be a unique and stylish affair, with directors Kemp Powers, Joaquin Dos Santos, and Justin K. Thompson bringing their own distinct visions to the project. The film is set to hit theaters on June 2
