Rockstar Games has announced an update that will bring significant improvements to the PC version of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5. This update, which also includes improvements previously offered for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, aims to provide a better experience for players. Here’s what’s new!
What will the GTA 5 PC update offer?
With the update to be released on 4 March, special improvements to ray tracing technology will be added to the GTA 5 PC version. In this way, graphic improvements such as global lighting and ambient screening will be included in the game. In addition, AMD FSR1, FSR3 and NVIDIA DLSS 3 support will increase frame rates and visual quality.

With the update, the game’s loading times will be reduced thanks to SSD and DirectStorage support. Rockstar also states that improvements have been made for higher resolutions, wider aspect ratios and high frame rates. On the audio side, the game will now have Dolby Atmos support. The PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers and haptic feedback are also being added to the PC version.
There are also important changes on the GTA Online side. Hao’s Special Works workshop and new vehicle upgrades available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S are now coming to PC. PC players will also now be able to get a GTA Plus membership.
However, Rockstar will separate the existing GTA Online version from the new version, creating two different clients. This means that players on the old version will not be able to be in the same session as those playing the updated version. Both versions will be available and new purchasers will be able to choose the version they want.
On the other hand, let us remind you that Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated new game Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in autumn 2025.
