Following innovations such as “Virtual Game Cards” introduced in Nintendo Switch version 20.0.0, some users started to encounter an error code “2206-1015” when turning on the console and the system became unable to start. The company launched the new version code 20.0.1 in response to this problem.
Nintendo fixed the error in Switch models
However, since the problem directly prevents the system from starting, it is not possible for the relevant users to install the new update directly. Therefore, it is necessary to start the device in a special way.

According to the information provided by Nintendo, after turning off the Switch, the power button must be pressed while pressing the volume up and down buttons at the same time. As a result of this process, the device goes into “Maintenance Mode” and the system update can be installed manually from here.
The 20.0.1 version notes state that only a fix has been made for this error. Therefore, users who have installed the 20.0.0 update without any problems are not required to switch to the new version. However, it does not seem possible to continue using devices that experience opening errors without switching to 20.0.1.
Nintendo recommends that users contact official support directly if the error persists or other problems are encountered despite this update. The company announced that it has taken measures to prevent similar situations from happening again.
