Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa announced that the company is carefully evaluating the pricing of its next-generation game console, the Nintendo Switch 2. According to Furukawa, the price will be determined by many factors such as inflation, exchange rates and consumers’ expectations from Nintendo. Details in our news…
Nintendo Switch 2 will be priced based on consumer expectations, inflation and exchange rates
Furukawa said in a statement following the release of the company’s third quarter financial reports that Nintendo will maintain its affordable pricing policy but will carefully adjust pricing to take into account changes in exchange rates and cost increases. However, he has not yet given any information about the exact price of the Nintendo Switch 2.

On the other hand, Furukawa also stated that they are not planning a change in the price of existing Nintendo Switch models. Nintendo announced that it will take special precautions to avoid stock problems at the launch of Switch 2. Furukawa stated that they are working on measures that will make it difficult for stockists (scalpers) to access the device and that they aim to meet demand by making enough production in the first place.
Meanwhile, Nintendo Switch 2 will be officially unveiled on April 4, 2025. Previous announcements have indicated that the new console will have a larger screen and will include magnetic-connected Joy-Con controllers. For now, it remains to be seen whether the Switch 2’s price and features will meet user expectations.
