Nokia is partnering with NVIDIA and T-Mobile to create the first AI-RAN (Artificial Intelligence Powered Radio Access Network) innovation center to mark a new era in wireless communications technologies. Artificial intelligence is said to make a major advance in wireless networks (6G). So what does this collaboration mean and what innovations await us?
Nokia, NVIDIA and T-Mobile join forces: AI-RAN, the first AI-powered radio access network innovation center!
This new innovation center is located in Bellevue, Washington, USA. It will maximize the performance of both 5G and future 6G technologies. In this center, Nokia, NVIDIA and T-Mobile will explore in depth how artificial intelligence can be used in wireless networks. In particular, they will focus on how GPU (graphics processing units) and AI (artificial intelligence) technologies can make networks faster, more reliable and more efficient.
This collaboration will not only increase network speed, but also reduce network latency and increase reliability. In addition, AI-RAN will enable networks to become smarter and predict changes in the environment in real time. In short, the capacity of the network will be able to adjust according to need, and users will always have the best experience.
Nokia is not limited to T-Mobile and NVIDIA in this project. The company announced that it will also collaborate with SoftBank, Japan’s giant telecommunications company, to conduct joint research on 6G and AI-RAN technologies. With this collaboration, next-generation wireless network solutions will be developed through the Cloud RAN platform and how these technologies can be used worldwide will be investigated.
We can say that AI-RAN technology carries great hopes for the wireless networks of the future. With the developing technology, it is now one step closer for users to access faster, more reliable and smarter networks.
