A little over a month ago, NVIDIA introduced its app as a unified GPU control panel that allows users to access all their GPU settings in one place. This platform was designed to assist creators, GeForce gamers, and AI enthusiasts using GeForce RTX GPUs.
NVIDIA App Updated: Annoying Performance Bug Finally Fixed
Since its launch, the app has received updates to implement improvements and fix potential bugs, including version 11.0.1, officially released this week. With the latest update, a particularly frustrating bug has finally been resolved.
According to information shared by Tom’s Hardware, the most significant feature of version 11.0.1 is the resolution of a bug in version 10.0.x that caused gaming performance to drop by up to 15%.
One key aspect of the fix involved adjustments to the “Game Filters” feature, a solution already discussed within the user community. This change disables “Game Filters,” which can be re-enabled via the “Settings > Features > Overlay > Game Filters and Photo Mode” menu.
However, since the patch notes don’t provide much additional detail, it’s anticipated that enabling the “Game Filters and Photo Mode” function may still lead to performance drops during gameplay. As a result, it’s not recommended for users aiming to maximize the performance of their hardware.
