Starting 2025 with strong momentum, Nvidia established a significant dominance in the external graphics card (AIB) market. According to the latest data shared for the first quarter of 2025, Nvidia holds 92% of the AIB market. AMD’s share dropped to 8%, while Intel’s presence in this segment has nearly vanished.
Nvidia maintains leadership in the graphics card market
Total AIB graphics card shipments reached 9.2 million units in the first quarter of the year. This figure indicates that the market has not yet fully recovered from post-pandemic fluctuations. Nvidia made a major impact on the quarter with its RTX 50 series. The introduction and launch of new models helped the company expand its market share.

AMD launched its RDNA 4 series toward the end of the quarter, but this move was not enough to stop the decline in market share. AMD experienced a 7.3% loss of users compared to the previous quarter. On Intel’s side, following a 1.2% decline, the company’s influence in this segment completely disappeared.
A similar picture emerged in the overall GPU market. Total GPU shipments, covering both desktop and laptop computers, dropped 12% compared to the previous quarter, falling to 68.8 million units. This decline signals that the global PC market slump continues.
Nvidia reached a 20% share in the overall GPU market with a 3.6% increase, while AMD dropped 1.6% to 17%, and Intel fell 2.1% to 63%. What do you think about this? Feel free to share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
