Nvidia, which made a fast start to 2025, established a great superiority in the external graphics card (AIB) market. According to the latest shared 2025 first quarter data, Nvidia holds 92 percent of the AIB market. While AMD’s share decreased to 8 percent, Intel almost lost its share in this segment.
Nvidia maintained its leadership in the graphics card market
Total AIB graphics card shipments reached 9.2 million units in the first quarter of the year. This figure shows that the market has still not fully recovered from the fluctuations following the pandemic. Nvidia left its mark on the quarter with the RTX 50 series. The introduction and sale of new models allowed the company to expand its market share.

AMD launched the RDNA 4 series towards the end of the quarter, but this move was not enough to stop the decline in market share. AMD lost 7.3 percent of users compared to the previous quarter. On the Intel side, the company’s impact in this segment completely disappeared after a 1.2 percent decrease.
A similar picture emerged in the general GPU market. Total GPU shipments, including desktops and laptops, fell by 12 percent compared to the previous quarter to 68.8 million units. This decline indicates that the global PC market is still stagnant.
While Nvidia increased by 3.6 percent to reach 20 percent share in the general GPU market, AMD decreased by 1.6 percent to 17 percent, and Intel lost 2.1 percent to 63 percent. What do you think about this? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
