NVIDIA has announced the RTX 5050, the most affordable member of the GeForce RTX 50 series. The card’s starting price was announced as $249. The RTX 5050 will be on the shelves in the second half of July.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 price and features
The new model uses NVIDIA’s GB207 graphics processor based on the Blackwell architecture. The card, which has 2560 CUDA cores, has about two-thirds as many cores as the RTX 5060, which was released in April.

Like the other models in the series, it comes with 5th generation Tensor cores and 4th generation ray tracing (RT) cores. This enables the use of advanced features such as multi-frame generation with DLSS 4 and Reflex 2 support.
The RTX 5050’s GPU operates at a base frequency of 2.31 GHz and can go up to 2.57 GHz. The card, which has 8 GB of GDDR6 memory over a 128-bit memory bus, is the first 50 series model not to use GDDR7. On the display output side, there are 3 DisplayPort 2.1b and 1 HDMI 2.1b connections.
On the video encoding and decoding side, there is a 9th generation NVENC encoder and a 6th generation NVDEC decoder. The card, which consumes a total of 130W of power, can be powered by a single 8-pin power connection or a 300W or higher PCIe Gen 5 cable.
NVIDIA has published some comparison graphs about the performance of the RTX 5050, but the readability of the graphs is low. According to the information provided by the company, the RTX 5050 offers an average of 60% higher raster performance compared to the RTX 3050, which was released about three years ago. It is stated that it is at a similar level to the RTX 4060, which was released two years ago in terms of performance.
There is no Founders Edition for the RTX 5050 from NVIDIA, but it will be available through major manufacturers such as ASUS, MSI, GIGABYTE, ZOTAC, Palit, PNY, INNO3D, Galaxy, Gainward, and Colorful.
In addition to the desktop version, a mobile version of the RTX 5050 for laptops has also been announced. The mobile RTX 5050 is available in laptops starting today and priced at $999.
