US-based technology company Nvidia has announced that it will open a new quantum computing research laboratory in Boston. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang announced that they will be partnering with Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for the laboratory. The announcement was made at the company’s GTC conference in San Jose, California. This development has already created great excitement among technology enthusiasts.
Nvidia to establish quantum computing laboratory
Nvidia’s new initiative, called the Accelerated Quantum Research Center (NVAQC), will be carried out in collaboration with companies operating in the field of quantum computing such as Quantinuum, Quantum Machines and QuEra Computing. The center is planned to be officially operational this year.

In a statement he made in January, Huang stated that usable quantum computers were at least 20 years away. However, he reconsidered this assessment at the GTC conference event. Huang, who came on stage with the managers of quantum computing companies, emphasized in his speech that developments in this field have accelerated considerably.
Nvidia aims to create a special quantum computer that can solve scientific and engineering problems by integrating with artificial intelligence supercomputers with the development of quantum technology. The company will make a significant contribution to this process with its new research center.
