The company revealed powerful new software and hardware designed to completely change how robots perceive and interact with the world. Through partnerships with industry giants like Boston Dynamics, LG Electronics, and Caterpillar, NVIDIA aims to accelerate the age of truly autonomous machines.
How NVIDIA Physical AI is Making Robots Smarter
Jensen Huang, the founder of NVIDIA, declared that the “ChatGPT moment for robotics” has arrived. The newly unveiled NVIDIA Cosmos and Isaac GR00T models go beyond simple pre-programmed tasks. They allow robots to genuinely understand the physical world. Thanks to these new systems, machines can see, reason, and make autonomous decisions in complex situations, much like humans do. The GR00T model, in particular, is developed for humanoid robots, providing full-body control to maximize their mobility and balance.
Jetson T4000: Powering the Next Generation
Alongside the software revolution, NVIDIA also announced a significant hardware upgrade. The new NVIDIA Jetson T4000 module, based on the Blackwell architecture, is set to advance industrial automation at an affordable price point. This module offers four times the performance of its predecessor, boasting 1200 FP4 TFLOPS of processing power and 64 GB of memory. Furthermore, its energy efficiency makes it the ideal power source for autonomous machines and advanced robotic systems.
This new technology package is already being adopted by industry leaders. Companies like Boston Dynamics and NEURA Robotics are building their next-generation robots on this platform, while LG Electronics has introduced a new robot for home use. In addition, a collaboration with Hugging Face will give millions of developers easy access to NVIDIA’s robotics models through the LeRobot library, democratizing innovation in the field.
