Bethesda Game Studios announced that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has reached 4 million players just five days after its release. The game was released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC platforms on 21 April 2025.
Oblivion Remastered surpassed 4 million players
Oblivion Remastered attracted a great deal of attention in a short time despite not running any large-scale promotional campaign prior to its release. ‘We are grateful to the more than 4 million people who stepped into Cyrodiil with Oblivion Remastered,’ Bethesda said on social media.

The ‘Remastered’ version, developed in collaboration with Virtuos, offers extensive improvements in graphics. It was stated that all assets in the world of Cyrodiil were redesigned from scratch and the visual standard of the game was brought up to date. In addition, the structure of the original game has been largely preserved, although some basic improvements have been made to the combat mechanics and sprint features.
Oblivion Remastered has also achieved significant success on the Steam platform. The production broke the highest concurrent player record on Steam in The Elder Scrolls series. Over 190 thousand concurrent players were reached before the weekend after the release. This record was previously achieved by The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim eight years ago with 69,906 concurrent players.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers can access the game at no additional cost. So what do you think about this issue? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
