OLED monitors have entered a significant growth trend thanks to the strong interest of PC gamers. According to the latest report published by TrendForce, OLED monitor shipments are expected to increase by 86% year-over-year to reach 2.66 million units by 2025. The European and Chinese markets are expected to be particularly influential in this growth.
OLED monitor sales are rising
The report emphasizes that gamers are the strongest driver of demand for OLED monitors. Technical advantages such as ultra-low latency, high color accuracy, and nearly infinite contrast make these products particularly attractive to competitive PC gamers who prioritize visual quality. This advantage offered by OLED panels, despite their higher price compared to LCD models, does not prevent them from being preferred.

The European market is expected to reach the same market share as North America by 2025. If the Chinese market maintains its current growth rate, it will increase its share from 14% in 2024 to 21% in 2025. TrendForce believes this surge in China is linked to both manufacturer shipment policies and the increase in the number of gamers.
Brands focused on the US market are reportedly pursuing a risk-distribution strategy due to recent tariff uncertainties, potentially shifting their shipments to Europe and China. This is leading major panel manufacturers, particularly LG and Samsung, to pursue new distribution channels and pricing policies.
The market share of OLED monitors currently stands at 2% of total monitor shipments. However, TrendForce predicts this share will reach 5% by 2028. The second key driver of this growth is lower manufacturing costs.
The introduction of more affordable OLED panels by LG and Samsung has enabled the introduction of affordable 1440p OLED monitor models. This development is making OLED technology more accessible not only to gamers but also to users seeking professional imaging quality.
