Apple managed to capture all the attention with its mixed reality headset, Vision Pro, which it unveiled at the WWDC 23 event a few days ago. Alongside its impressive features, Vision Pro also stood out with its price tag of $3,500. The response from competitors to Vision Pro was not delayed.
HTC’s new AR/VR headset attracts attention with its price and features
Following Apple’s introduction of the Vision Pro model, HTC’s virtual reality division has also announced its brand-new AR/VR headset. The new Vive XR Elite Business Edition is priced at $1,299, which is almost one-third the price of Vision Pro.
Although HTC’s new mixed reality headset may not appear as intriguing as the Vision Pro, it could be the most serious rival to Apple’s mixed reality headset with its features. Developed with a focus on business, the Vive XR Elite Business Edition brings along a new application.
The new AR/VR headset, offered with Business+ that makes device and user management easier for companies, is designed as a tool that facilitates collaboration, in addition to providing features for training and visualization.
The mixed reality headset’s 1920×1920 dual display offers close to 4K resolution within a 110-degree field of view and a refresh rate of 90Hz. With this, the AR/VR headset can provide users with more detailed images. It also hosts four tracking cameras, a 16MB RGB camera, a depth sensor, a G-sensor, a gyroscope, and a proximity sensor.
Equipped with Bluetooth 5.2 (BLE) and Wi-Fi 6E, the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 processor with 12GB of memory and 128GB of storage. HTC’s new mixed reality headset also comes with controllers that can be used in six different ways. Additionally, the device incorporates limited hand tracking technology for navigation, clicking, dragging, scrolling, and even writing.
HTC Vive XR Elite Business Edition could make a swift entry into the mixed reality headset market, especially considering its price. So, what are your thoughts on Apple Vision Pro and other AR/VR headset models? Feel free to share your opinions in the comments section.
