The Samsung Galaxy S25 series was launched by Samsung this week with a number of new features in various aspects. The One UI 7 update that came with the new flagship phones also brought features, some of which are geared towards photography. Now users will have six practical new tools for editing their RAW images. Here are the details
New RAW editing options coming with One UI 7
Samsung’s new advanced phone models offer new parameters for RAW photo editing. The new editing options offered to users with the One UI 7 update are as follows:
- Exposure – Adjust the brightness of the whole image
- Bright areas – Adjust brightness only in bright areas of an image
- Shadow – Adjust brightness only in dark areas of an image
- Contrast – Check the difference in brightness between the bright and dark areas of an image
- Saturation – Adjust the saturation of the entire image
- Vibrancy – Adjust the saturation of the entire image, preventing oversaturation
- Color Temperature – Adjust the color tone of the image
- Noise Removal – Adjust the intensity of noise in the image
These elements are available in One UI 7.0 based on Android 15. Some tools such as Exposure, Saturation and Vibrancy have been applied to change the entire image. Highlights and Shadows, on the other hand, are aspects that change only a few points, the light and dark areas respectively.
Noise Removal can be quite useful for photos taken in low lighting conditions, while the other options act as complements. These new editing options are bundled with the new Expert RAW app that comes with the Galaxy S25 series’ software release.
Another new feature added to the image editor is the histogram option. For those who do not know, this feature appears as a graph showing the light levels distributed in the image. It helps users reduce the areas where brightness explodes in a photo taken with the device’s camera.
