Samsung has made a welcome announcement for mid-range users. The company has begun rolling out the highly anticipated Android 16-based One UI 8 stable update for the Galaxy M55 and Galaxy M55s smartphones. This major update not only brings the latest One UI features to the devices but also promises significant improvements in security and performance.
Android 16-Based One UI 8 for the Galaxy M55 and M55s
The update is currently available for users in India. If you have one of these devices, you need to check your device’s software menu:
- Galaxy M55:
- Firmware Version (Mobile): M556BXXU4CYJ4
- Size: Approximately 2.6 GB
- Galaxy M55s:
- Firmware Version (Mobile): M558BXXU2CYJ4
- Size: Approximately 2.5 GB

Both update packages include all the new features of One UI 8, as well as the October 2025 Android security patch, which improves the device’s security. This rollout, which Samsung has launched for users in India, typically rolls out to other markets shortly. To manually check for and install the update, follow these steps:
- Go to your smartphone’s Settings menu.
- Scroll down and tap Software Update.
- Tap Download and Install to check for the update.
