Samsung has launched a new software update for smartwatch users. The company has opened the beta version of the Wear OS 6-based One UI 8 Watch to distribution. The update was initially released for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra models. Other models, the Galaxy Watch FE and Galaxy Watch 5 series, will be included in the beta process in the future.
One UI 8 Watch is available for use
The beta update can first be downloaded by users in South Korea and the USA. The size of the first beta package of One UI 8 Watch is approximately 1.9 GB and can only be downloaded over a Wi-Fi connection. Users who want to benefit from the update must have the latest versions of the Samsung Members, Galaxy Wearable and Watch Manager applications from the Galaxy Store.

Users who want to download the update can register by tapping the “One UI 8 Watch Beta Program” title in the Samsung Members application. Then, the update is checked and the installation process is started via the Galaxy Wearable application. The watch is restarted during the installation and the new software is activated.
Some changes have been made to the user interface with the One UI 8 Watch. In addition to the updated visual design, new functions called “Now Bar” and “Now Brief” have been added. Four new features stand out on the health tracking side: Antioxidant Index, Bedtime Guidance, Running Coach, and Vascular Load. However, not all of these features will be active on all watch models.
It is noteworthy that Samsung has modernized its software infrastructure and focused its health features on high-end models with this beta update. There is no clear date given for when the final version will be released after the beta process.
